Training will also cover situational awareness to develop an understanding of one's surroundings, learning to understand the psychology of a street confrontation, and identifying potential threats before an attack occurs. MUAY THAI


KNOWN AS “THE ART OF EIGHT LIMBS” DUE TO THE COMBINED USE OF FISTS, ELBOWS, KNEES, AND SHINS, MUAY THAI IS A PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DISCIPLINE, THE OFFICIAL COMBAT SPORT OF THAILAND. IT USES STAND-UP STRIKING ALONG WITH VARIOUS CLINCHING TECHNIQUES FOR MAXIMIZED EFFECTIVENESS. WITH A HEAVY FOCUS ON BODY CONDITIONING, IT WAS DESIGNED TO PROMOTE THE LEVEL OF FITNESS REQUIRED FOR RING COMPETITION. ALONG WITH TRAINING YOUR LIMBS AGAINST FOCUS MITTS AND PADS, THIS CLASS WILL FOCUS ON COMBAT CONDITIONING, SUCH AS SHADOWBOXING, ROPE JUMPING, BODY WEIGHT EXERCISES AND ABDOMINAL EXERCISES.

SAVATE BOxe FRANçAISe


Boxe francaise, an alternative name for savate, was founded in 1838 by Charles Lecour. Despite its grace and beauty, savate is an effective method of self-defense. It has been described as fencing with the hands and feet. The system includes only empty-hand techniques delivered while standing or jumping. All savate strikes are the result of scientific study and more than a century and a half of ring experience. In savate, even though the feet are fast and powerful, the distances are much greater. That enables the average practitioner to successfully employ offensive and defensive moves without fear of injury. The student can more easily develop self-control and confidence. The savateur strives to attack with combinations and frequently invents strategies that involve feints and real strikes. He is forced to anticipate and adapt to changes in distance and speed while demonstrating his awareness of timing and space — all while using the sophisticated footwork for which the art is renowned.

Kali/ Eskrima/ Arnis - Filipino Martial Arts


The name "Kali" is used to refer to the Filipino martial arts (FMA) styles of stick and sword-fighting.  Practitioners of Filipino martial arts are  noted for their ability to fight with weapons or empty hands  interchangeably. Weapons are treated as an extension of the hand, and  weapons training is considered to promote proficiency in empty-handed  techniques. The weapons vary in design, size, weight, materials and  usage. Kali practitioners believe that hand-to-hand combat moves are similar to those with weapons; thus, these skills are developed concurrently. Some of the popular combinations of weapons used are the single stick (solo baston), double stick (double baston), and sword/stick and dagger (espada). Along with this, the most frequently used training weapon is the rattan, a stick about the length of its wielder's arm. Kali practitioners are known for their lightning-fast movements and efficient footwork in wielding weapons.

Empty Hand Fighting - This program is geared for street oriented self-defense. It is founded in Jeet Kune Do concepts developed by the late Sifu Bruce Lee, and passed on by Guru Dan Inosanto. With a perspective on weapons and bladed arts in particular, empty-hand training is one of the more advanced topics within the Filipino Martial Arts. Curriculum is based around realistic and common self defense situations using all four ranges of fighting: Kicking, Punching, Trapping and Grappling.

A split second difference can make all the difference between raising your hands in victory and picking yourself off the canvas. Even if you weren’t born with speed, you still need it. Even if it’s not part of your style, you still have to improve it. Our class focuses on improving balance and coordination, key components when it comes to strength and accuracy in this sport. Working with Heavy Bags, speed bags, and focus mits, with the help of trained instructors, you will improve footwork, balance, power, coordination, technique, form, and the much coveted SPEED.  You can punch as fast as you can imagine a combination. With no outside elements slowing you down. the only limitation you have is yourself.

VINYASA FLOW YOGA


vinyasa yoga movements are smooth, where practitioners flow using the breath as a guide, through dance-like transitions meant to release toxins and re-energize the body. This practice will bring your body into a state of physical strength, flexibility and vitality and the mind into a state of balance and stillness, unlike anything you have experienced before. Vinyasa denotes a flowing, dynamic form of yoga, connected to breath or pranayama in which yoga and mudra transitions are embodied as linkages within and between asanas. Applying Vinyasa in your yoga practice and daily life can be compared to sailing a boat. It requires a synchronization with natural forces that requires both skill and intuition, as well as the ability to set a course but being open to changing with the wind and the currents. Constant change is an inherent part of life.

YOGA SCULPT


Yoga's best sculpting poses are amplified here for a maximum calorie burning and muscle toning workout. Based on the idea that sculpting is just as important as lengthening, yoga sculpt targets your thighs, glutes, core, and arms to improve your posture while toning from head to toe. Yoga uses your own body weight through multiple postures to challenge every muscle group; Pair it up with external resistance, mid-workout dance parties, burpees, and kickboxing and you're getting the idea behind sculpt yoga. Focusing on your breathing while moving through the postures will help strengthen, balance, and detoxify the body while setting you up for a successful yoga practice.

BANDO YOGA


Bando Yoga, also known as Burmese Yoga, originates from Myanmar and it is practiced with the intent of maintaining overall health, resisting illness, and restoring or recovering after illness or injury has occurred. This is not a yoga system for enlightenment but rather for developing and maintaining efficient functionality in everyday life. There are three major systems of Bando Yoga, which will be taught in a recurring pattern, as follows:

- Dhanda Yoga:  focus is on the alignment of the skeletal system by use of the staff.

- Longi Yoga: Focus on the development of flexibility and soft-tissue adjustment through the use of cloth or rope.

- Letha Yoga: Partner-assisted practice, with a focus on the improvement of circulation and joint stimulation.

POWER YIN YOGA

This yoga practice is comprised of both strengthening standing poses in a dynamic flow in the first half of class, and a softer approach focused on stretching the deep connective tissue (to allow for greater mobility and range of motion) in the second half. "power" refers to the depth and length in which postures are held, while "Yin" refers to the opening that is encouraged through every breath. a signature trait of this practice is the inclusion of spinal flexes where practitioners are encouraged to sync breath and movement of the spine towards finding moments of flowing integration of the two. practice focuses on building heat in the muscles and core before slowing down and holding poses, thus allow for a deeper stretch, all steeped in a restorative and meditative experience.

ASHTANGA YOGA



Ashtanga yoga is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

YIN YOGA


This practice is designed to help you sit longer, and more comfortably, in meditation by stretching connective tissue around the joints (mainly the knees, pelvis, sacrum, and spine). A passive practice, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia.

Kids will learn a variety of SELF-DEFENSE techniques specific to Krav Maga, as well as apply take-downs and defenses derived from Judo, Sambo, and Savate.
